Based on a systematic phonics approach, the Reading Basics Book 1 contains twenty-four high-interest stories sure to please any young reader! The inclusion of high-frequency words, which are also called sight words or instant words, increases the interest level of this great collection of stories. Since drilling of high-frequency sight words helps to increase fluency, this reader includes a list of instant words utilized within the stories.
